HanZ – Clothing as Cultural Practice

HanZ stands for clothing that connects thought and action. Here, fashion is not a fleeting expression of the moment, but a form of reflection on time, material, and responsibility.

Each piece is created from the conviction that clothing is a cultural medium – a language through which values, relationships, and attitudes become visible.

A Practice of Responsibility

At its core lies a reflective form of production: high-quality natural materials, fair working conditions, and a conscious approach to people and resources. Each garment is made by a single tailor – from the first to the last stitch. This preserves the integrity of the design and leaves a trace of the time and care it contains.

Material, Form, Precision

HanZ works with materials of exceptional tactility and clarity. Form and fabric are conceived together – not as ornament, but as mutual resonance. Every detail serves a purpose, every seam is placed to reveal the material’s character. Elegance emerges through reduction, precision, and calm.

Edition, Not Series

Each collection is produced in limited editions or as individual pieces. This deliberate limitation is not a restriction, but a principle – a choice for care, proximity, and transparency.

Time, Value, and Transformation

HanZ views fashion as a cultural practice in which work, perception, and creation are interwoven. Clothing here becomes a vessel of time – a counterpoint to acceleration and detachment.

Fashion, in this sense, becomes a language of transformation: precise, responsible, and present.

About Me

I use fashion as a medium to address and reinterpret cultural themes. My path led me from fashion design at the Lette Verein Berlin, through art history studies, into the practice of galleries, museums, and artistic projects.

For me, fashion is more than outward appearance – it is a cultural act that reveals values, identity, and our relationship to the environment. My aesthetic concepts are rooted in deep respect for resources, for the tailors who bring my designs to life, and for the people who wear them. This is why I focus on quality, fairness, and transparency.

At my atelier in Salzburg, limited editions and unique pieces are created with a focus on materials and their sensory qualities. I look forward to your inquiry and to a personal exchange. — Hannah Zundel
